Inside the WP2 “Improvement of camel milk production systems”, there is a task about technical study on the current status of the camel farms. Partners from France (FAYE) and Spain (IRTA) visited different camel farms in Aydin province (South West Turkey) on September 2019. Mr. Atakan Koç (ADU), together with Mr. Aytekin Kaya (KAYA) and Mr. Eray Gönülaçar (OVACIK), organized the camel farm visits. One of them was Kaya Brother farm, a partner in CAMELMILK project. In each visit, we made an interview to know camel farm management and milking practise and hygiene. Also, we visited Gönülacar LTD dairy factory (OVACIK partner). Now they are producing different types of cow fermented milks and cheese. Inside the project, they will produce different camel milk dairy products.

We learnt more about camels, camel milk, camel meat and Turkish culture. We strengthened interaction between two sides of the Mediterranean and also we shared different knowledge of camel sector.
