Training at DROMEMILK, the biggest camel farm in Europe

Last October, the Director General for Livestock of the Government of the Canary Islands, Thaishet Fuentes, as well as regional and local authorities of Fuerteventura, accompanied the management team of Oasis Wildlife Fuerteventura and the delegation of CAMELMILK, who visited the island and the camel farm DROMEMILK.

Last October, the Director General for Livestock of the Government of the Canary Islands, Thaishet Fuentes, as well as regional and local authorities of Fuerteventura, accompanied the management team of Oasis Wildlife Fuerteventura and the delegation of CAMELMILK, who visited the island and the camel farm DROMEMILK.

Bernard Faye, one of the main eminences in camels worldwide, and Marta Garrón, coordinator and director of the CAMELMILK project, were present at this meeting, in which the DROMEMILK team presented the innovative milking processes of this camel farm, the largest in Europe with more than 400 animals.

Students from different agriculture schools of Fuerteventura received two days training from the specialists Bernard Faye, Marta Garrón and Elena Díaz, and attended the visit to the DROMEMILK farm, where they received also live trainings.

The main media of the island were present during the visit and showed a special interest in the project and the future commercialization of derivative products with Canarian denomination of origin.
